Zak Sultan – Founder, Black Dog Financial
Zak Sultan has built his career at the intersection of entrepreneurship and finance, driven by a passion for helping businesses grow with clarity and confidence. His journey began with working in the family business, where he learned firsthand the challenges of scaling a company—forecasting growth, streamlining operations, and building brand value.
That experience led him into banking, where over the next decade he specialized in commercial lending, supporting business owners with financing for real estate, working capital, acquisitions, and equipment. He later expanded into investment banking, guiding business owners through exit strategies, valuations, and private equity transactions.
Over the years, Zak saw firsthand the consequences of a persistent gap—companies with strong potential struggling under poor financial visibility, disconnected processes, and reactive decision-making. At the same time, he noticed how the right guidance—clean financials, actionable dashboards, and strategic banking relationships—could transform outcomes, unlocking profitability, scalability, and ultimately enterprise value.
Recognizing the need for a modern solution, Zak founded Black Dog Financial, a Finance Department as a Service platform designed for lower-middle-market businesses. Built on five core verticals—Bookkeeping, Financial Dashboards, CFO Strategy, Banking Concierge, and M&A Readiness—Black Dog Financial provides entrepreneurs with the clarity, systems, and strategy once reserved for larger firms.
Zak’s vision is simple but powerful: to help business owners move from operating in the day-to-day to building companies that grow, scale, and endure. By combining his experience in finance with a servant-leader approach, he created Black Dog Financial to bridge the gap between numbers and strategy—giving founders the financial backbone they need to succeed.
Beyond his professional work, Zak serves on the board of the Down Syndrome Association of Central Florida, reflecting his belief in leadership through service and community impact.
